Learn More
The DMP-BD45 employs the PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus. Developed in collaboration with Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory, this high image processing technology reproduces clear, vivid colors that are faithful to the original film.
Panasonic's Blu-ray Disc players employ high precision 4:4:4 signal technology, which working in tandem with PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus processes each pixel of the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the horizontal direction to compliment vertical direction processing. P4HD (Pixel Precision Progressive Processing for HD) is another technology that contributes to the superior picture quality of the Blu-ray players. P4HD processes more than 15 billion pixels per second and applies the optimal processing to every pixel.
Panasonic's Blu-ray Disc players further utilize 16-level motion detection to categorize the image motion of each pixel into one of 16 levels; diagonal processing to detect diagonals and correct the pixels accordingly; 1080p up-conversion to up-convert content recorded in the 480i/p or 720p format to 1080p.
This Blu-ray Disc player also provides 1080/24p output, reproducing cinema images from a Blu-ray Disc and DVD in their original 24p form with no need for conversion--enabling you to enjoy cinema images in the same format used in cinema with a 1080/24p-compatible TV.

I Had no interest in a wi-fi blu-ray player.. & after doing extensive research & reading reviews, This is the one to get, It lives up to the spectacular reviews too.. easy to set up and use, open / close button on the top of the unit is a nice feature too (top right front to be specific, if you stack your units you'll be able to access)..& the Remote (never thought I'd write about a remote) the layout of the remote is perfect all the right buttons where they should be.. thank you Panasonic & Amazon (price & delivery).. great product.. best blu-ray / dvd player I've used and I've used a few of them. LG, Sony, Samsung, Denon, to name a few..
"Panasonic Blu-ray Player" 2010-08-22By
LindaI went from a Panasonic DVD player which was stunning visual to this Panasonic Blu-ray which sharpened the stunning. The sound is crisp and clear, the picture ranging from poor quality to great quality original filming remains that way but with a high quality appearance. New Blu-ray viewing is stunning. Older good quality movies such as earliest Disney movies that are not Blu-ray are sharp with deeper colors and great sound. Movies that I had taped then transferred to DVD play beautifully, again depending on the original quality.
"No BD-Live" 2010-08-19By
Hugo Pachas-LunaBuyers beware.
This unit is not a Profile 2.0. Therefore it is not capable of performing internet updates or BD-Live. It is only a regular BluRay player. However, for a guest room it is good for the price.
"Does what it should" 2010-07-04By

The remote feels nice, and the player does what it is supposed to do. Playback of AVCHD on memory cards is a nice touch for anyone with a camera that records in that format. For a budget product, this does seem to perform well, and I haven't had any major issues with playback of any supported media. Thumbs up.
"Great for the guest bedroom" 2010-06-18By
louiseb (DFW)
Bought this for the guest bedroom, perfect for my needs there. Small size, nice picture, nice sound connected to ZVOX 550 Low-Profile Single-Cabinet Surround Sound System. Much faster load time than the Panasonic BD55 in my main home theater.
